Environment

Preserving the environment is in the DNA of Haute Maurienne Vanoise. Located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, the area has always been committed to sustainable development and respect for one of its greatest assets: its exceptional natural heritage.

Over 210,000 hectares protected

In Haute Mauriennne Vanoise you can enjoy 210,509 hectares of protected natural areas (heart of the Parc national de la Vanoise, Natura 2000 zones, classified sites, registered sites, ZNIEFF type 1): an immense natural territory where you can encounter exceptional fauna and flora (eagles, ibex, marmots, bearded vultures, edelweiss, cembrian pines) and unspoilt natural sites dominated by glaciers and peaks over 3000 meters high.

Committed men and women

Haute Maurienne Vanoise is a year-round business. Here, ski instructors are often "double active": as well as passing on their passion for skiing, they are also farmers, carpenters, mountain guides... Deeply attached to their territory, they are all aware of the importance of preserving the mountains and exploiting resources sparingly. Natural resources from which they derive their Beaufort cheese.
