Enjoy ski touring at Haute Maurienne Vanoise. Ski touring trails are open and marked on the way up at several resorts. Ideal for beginners who want to get the most out of their experience (the descent is on "classic" groomed runs). For those who want to go further and take advantage of the wide-open spaces offered by the mountains, before leaving the open, secure pistes and putting on your skins, always make sure you have complied with the safety rules: check the quality of the snow cover with the professionals, weather report, shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver.

Safety first

Be accompanied and tell at least one person about your itinerary. The easiest way is to call on the resort's professional instructors and guides, who will accompany you in complete safety, so you can enjoy the fresh snow and wide-open spaces. In the mountains, you also have to know when to give up. After a long ski touring ascent, it's sometimes tempting to take on a virgin face. But if the safety conditions aren't right, always err on the side of caution and turn back or choose a less exposed slope.
