The Arc river, which has shaped the entire Maurienne valley, is famous for its fario trout. No-kill" (catch-and-release) runs are available on this river and on some of its tributaries. You can also fish in special lakes at Modane, La Norma, Val Cenis and Bessans, and in the large dam lakes. You can also take advantage of the high altitude lakes, some of which are stocked with fish, for fishing in the high mountains.
