Freeride and speed riding
On the slopes of the Haute Maurienne Vanoise resorts, particularly Valfréjus and Bonneval sur Arc, you'll very often come across skiers with wide skis and ABS bags on their backs: a sign that these resorts offer great freeride slopes. Another sign is that speed riding was invented in Valfréjus. Speedriding? Freeride in 3D", according to Franck Coupat, instructor at the Ataka speedriding school.

Safety before powder!
The mountains are a place of freedom and adventure. But before leaving the open, secure slopes to go into freeride mode, always make sure you have complied with the safety rules: check conditions with professionals, weather report, shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver. Be accompanied and tell at least one person about your itinerary. The easiest way is to call on the resort's professionals and instructors, who will accompany you in complete safety to enjoy the fresh snow and wide-open spaces.
