Description

At Headquarters—the control center located inside 11-year-old Riley’s head—five Emotions are hard at work. Leading them is Joy, brimming with optimism and good cheer, who makes sure Riley is happy. Fear handles safety, Anger ensures that justice prevails, and Disgust keeps Riley from letting her life get poisoned—both literally and figuratively. As for Sadness, she’s not quite sure what her role is. Neither are the others, for that matter… When Riley’s family moves to a big city—with all the scares that entails—the Emotions have their work cut out for them as they guide the young girl through this difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness accidentally get lost in the farthest corners of Riley’s mind, taking some essential memories with them, Fear, Anger, and Disgust are forced to step in. Joy and Sadness will have to venture into very unusual places—such as Long-Term Memory, the Land of Imagination, Abstract Thought, and the Dream Factory, in an attempt to find their way back to Headquarters so that Riley can get through this phase and move forward in life…
