Free skiing for all! Access to the Val d’Ambin Nordic area is free of charge… It’s up to you to make the most of it!

This ski area clutching the Italian border offers beautiful panoramic views over the glaciers and high summits of the Vanoise National Park.
Every year, the trails are marked out to their best advantage to ensure you get even more enjoyment out of visiting Saint-Pierre d’Extravache, Maurienne’s oldest church, or the fabulous Planay plateau overlooking, among others, the magnificent wilderness of the Etache valley.

Starting point at La Croix (accessible by car, shuttle bus, or a 15-minute walk) on the way to Sardières from the village.
Val Cenis Sardières and Aussois are both south-facing and enjoy generous amounts of sunshine.
The Nordic chalet in Val Cenis Sardières opens 7 days a week in the ski season to provide all the information you need for your cross-country skiing trips.
There’s also an indoor picnic area, which is very handy when the weather is bad. This spot is a popular meeting place for cross-country skiing and biathlon lessons.
Once on their skis, children and beginners can discover those first sensations of classic cross-country skiing, or go straight for the skating technique, on the plateau around the Nordic Chalet.
This area is recommended as a good warm-up spot for more experienced cross-country skiers before they head for the more hilly trails across the ski area.
