Alzheimer's Specialized Team (ESA)

In July 2012, a new service dependent on the SSIAD was created: the ESA. This specialized team is dedicated to the care at home of patients with Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, at the beginning of the disease.

Description

It has a capacity of 8 places and intervenes on all the Maurienne Valley, from Bonneval Sur Arc to the Combe de Savoie.

The objectives are multiple: to reduce the symptoms and/or maintain or develop the residual capacities of the patient in order to allow him/her to stay at home and to reduce behavioral disorders. The goal of this care is to preserve the person's autonomy as long as possible and to encourage the reinforcement of his social links.
The professionals involved
The team is composed of a psychomotrician, a gerontology care assistant and a nurse coordinator.
