The village-resort gem
At the bottom of the Iseran pass (elevation 2,764 metres), the village resort of Bonneval-sur-Arc attracts skiers looking for wide open spaces and holidaymakers in search of a revitalising break.
Classified as one of the “most beautiful villages in France”, Bonneval sur Arc is an array of traditional stone chalets with slate roofs.
Between the Parc National de la Vanoise, the glaciers (Evettes, Grand Méan, Sources de l’Arc, etc.) and the Ecot hamlet, Bonneval sur Arc is quite simply the “gem of village resorts” of Haute Maurienne Vanoise.
The hamlet of Ecot is a must! You simply cannot stay a week in Bonneval sur Arc without paying it a visit. On foot, snowshoes or cross-country skis… it doesn’t matter, just as long as you go!
This key spot exists beyond time: the excuse of going up to Ecot for a coffee to see the beautiful panoramic view is a very good one!
