Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc ‑ Aussois

Since its first edition in January 2005, the Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc has been the annual event for sled dogs in Europe. It is the most demanding stage race in the world in a unique alpine setting, and now a benchmark for mid-distance.

It is also one of the great winter highlights in the heart of Haute Maurienne Vanoise, which, as holidaymakers and residents alike, moves crowds!

The competition takes place over 12 days, from 9 to 20 January 2021, covering 300 km 32 km on average per day, 11 400 m of positive altitude difference, 1 mass start and 10 “time trial” stages.

This year, it brings together more than 65 international mushers and their 550 top-level dog athletes in the superb landscapes of Savoie Mont Blanc.
Every year, more than 50,000 spectators enjoy a unique experience, in the heart of the 20 resorts, towns and villages of Savoie and Haute-Savoie dressed in festive clothes for the occasion, by attending La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc.

La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc is a real adventure with a great A, which promotes a certain vision of sport, nature and respect for the environment.

Departure and arrival point: Snow front (next to the Maison d’Aussois)
1:30pm – 6:30pm: Animations Far North
14h30 – 15h : Animations on the departure area
15h – 16h10 : Departure
16h55 – 18h30 : Arrival and prize-giving ceremony

Places of passage of the race :
15h55 – 16h35: Passage to the Monolith of Sardières (snowshoe access)
16h05 – 16h45: Passage on the plateau of Sardières – Nordic Centre (car access)
16h30 – 17h30 : Passage at the Croix d’Aussois (car access)
