All the villages and resorts of Haute Maurienne Vanoise are served by public transport routes to take you to and from Modane train station.

For bus routes M11 and M12, we strongly recommend you buy your ticket in advance, especially if you’re travelling on a Saturday. This will ensure a seat is reserved for you.

Travel in HMV

 

The Haute Maurienne Vanoise transport network is organised around two main lines:

M11 Modane – Val Cenis Lanslebourg via Aussois

M12 Modane – Bonneval sur Arc.

These services take you exploring the villages of Haute Maurienne Vanoise and serve the “transversal” lines that allow you to reach the resorts and our region’s many exceptional sites. Be aware that most are connecting services!

Some lines run continuously throughout the summer, while others operate only on prior reservation: lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, M11 and M12.

Summer 2020 Mobility Guide

Find all bus routes and timetables in the Haute Maurienne Vanoise transport network & mobility guide.

Fares

All users must hold a valid ticket. In case of control, he may be asked to justify his identity. The transport service is paying for all. Each time a vehicle is mounted, the user must pay a ticket. If this user takes a second vehicle in correspondence, a second title will be asked.

10-ticket book

 

On lines M11, M12, L1, L2, L3 and L4, you get reduced fares when you purchase a Book of 10 tickets for €15. This contains 10 non-nominative tickets which are valid all summer. Each ticket entitles you to one bus journey on lines M11, M12, L1, L2, L3 or L4.

The ticket book is on sale at the Tourist Office and from certain accommodation providers. It can also be purchased from the bus driver on routes L1, L2, L3 and L4.

For permanent residents, this 10-ticket book is also available at the Maison Cantonal de Modane, on presentation of proof of address.

You’ll find the Maison Cantonale next to Modane train station.
Opening hours:
• Monday to Saturday: 8.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6.30pm
• Sunday and public holidays: 9am to 12.30pm and 3pm to 6.30pm

Disabled persons

On Saturdays, routes M11 and M12 are accessible to people with reduced mobility, on prior reservation. Phone by 11.30 am on the day before travel, on +33 (4) 79 05 26 67.

Every day from mid July to the end of August, route L6 is accessible to people with reduced mobility, on prior reservation. Phone +33 (0)4 79 05 26 67

  • by 11.30 am on the day before, for travel from Tuesday to Saturday
  • by 11.30 am on the Friday before, for travel on Sunday or Monday

Children

Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied.
For safety reasons, they must not stay in their pushchair.

Dogs

Guide dogs are accepted without restriction.
Dogs carried in a dog carrier travel for free.
Owners will be required to purchase a ticket for any dog of more than 10 kg or which is not transported in a dog carrier.
Dogs of more than 10 kg must wear a muzzle and be kept on a lead.

Bicycle transport

On routes M11 and M12, bicycles, mountain bikes and electric bikes may be carried at certain times.
Look for the corresponding symbol (8 = 8 bikes maximum, 20 = 20 bikes maximum).
An electric bike counts as 2 bikes.

Prior booking by 5pm the day before at +33 (0)4 79 05 26 67  is highly recommended.
Bikes are under the responsibility of their owners.
