Your cultural and heritage discoveries

Val Cenis, a land of Baroque art, reveals its history, culture and traditions through countless religious monuments (the History Trail: visits to its 12 chapels) and military monuments (the fortifications). Discover prehistory with your family by visiting the archaeology museum, or the history of the Col du Mont Cenis, a mythical crossing point between France and Italy, with the Pyramid museum. In the mountain pastures, several farmers welcome you and will also help you discover their products. They will gladly tell you about their job, milking, haying…

In search of coolness

Val Cenis naturally enjoys pleasant temperatures, even in the middle of a heat wave. Try hydrospeed which allows you to swim down the river and discover the mountain in a different way. Experience a beautiful rafting trip down the Arc, with a 6 km long course. Or simply discover the Aquasensations aquatic base, where you can swim, balance and take on challenges… And don’t forget the swimming pool at the Parc de loisirs des Glières, ideal for cooling off during the day or relaxing after a hike.

An air of Italy

On foot along the hiking trails, by car, by bus or by bike, Italy is very close! Take advantage of your stay in Val Cenis to cross the border as soon as possible. From Val Cenis-Lanslebourg, take the route once traced by Napoleon to reach our Italian neighbours. The passage by the Mont Cenis, its immense lake, its old forts and its marmots which gambol, is already a pretty adventure. After the dam, all you have to do is go down to Susa to enjoy an ice cream or a pizza and visit the Roman remains of this ancient city. And to extend your Italian day, from Susa, Turin is only an hour’s drive away. You can visit the huge markets, the arcades, the churches and the sumptuous museums of the capital of Piedmont.

Taste the local flavours

Because holidays are meant to be good times and we know how to make excellent products, go ahead and push the doors of the regional produce shops, local producers, the dairy cooperative or the alpine farms.
While waiting to open their doors and terraces, restaurateurs offer their specialities for takeaway or home delivery. You can count on them, you’re in for a treat!
