Telegraph Chappe Mollard Fleury

Historic site and monument in Val-Cenis
Free
  • The Chappe telegraph is an optical telecommunication system set up by Napoleon. You can discover the Mollard-Fleury station at an altitude of 2004 m. Regular visits in summer allow you to discover how it works.

  • These first vestiges, located in Savoie in 2002, have regained all their splendour and are worth the diversion, possible thanks to the signposted routes to the Mollard-Fleury site from Sardières or Aussois. Two other posts have been restored, at Saint-André and Avrieux, and every summer transmissions are organised to discover how it works. A unique event in the world!
