Refuge de la Fournache

in Aussois

  • The Fournache Refuge - altitude 2340m - is bordering the Vanoise national park in the valley of Fournache at the foot of the famous Dent Parrachée, overlooking dams Plan d''Amont and Plan d'Aval , it is primarily a stage on the GR5.

  • It is primarily a stage on the tour of the glaciers of the Vanoise.
The refuge was built in stone, wood and slate in the purest mountain tradition, in place of a former Alpine chalet. The wooden interior offers a modern refuge while maintaining an authentic character. It enjoys an exceptional view over Lake Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval.
