Cultural, Exhibition, Historic in Val-Cenis
  • What is hidden behind our places called "Le Raffour"? What are these circles of stones that are to be seen in our forests? Evocation of a time when the communities of the high valleys lived on what the mountain gave them: stone, wood, water and fire.

  • Places called "Le Raffour" or "La Fournache", circles of stones half engulfed by the forest, flat areas on the ground blackened by coal... These remains often encountered along the way tell us of a time when mountain communities ensured their subsistence. thanks to what the mountain gave them: stone, wood and water.

To these elements, they added a fourth that they mastered with great precision: fire.
