  • Founded in 1536 at the so called Pepper locality, it was used as a sanctuary in the XVIIe c. (baptism of dead born children). Originally under the Assumption, it is in the XIXe C. that is was devoted to the Visitation. Alterpiece (1720) from S. Rosaz.

  • Tradition speaks of an ancient oratory built at a place called "le Poivre", located on the old salt, cheese and mountain pastures route, which links the Maurienne and Tarentaise valleys via the Vanoise pass. Coming from afar and having passed through the Mont-Cenis pass, did the spice merchants stop here before facing the mountain or continuing on the official royal road down the valley?
