Valley surrounded by mountain pastures
The Fond d’Aussois has always been inhabited in summer by the inhabitants of the village of Aussois who used to go up their herds to graze in the mountain pastures. You can still see the chalets and the chapel of Notre-Dame des Anges.
At the foot of peaks and glaciers – La Pointe de l’Echelle, le Rateau d’Ausssois, Roche Chevrière, Labby glacier – it is also the only way to get to Pralognan la Vanoise via the Aussois pass.
Easily accessible from the Plan d’Amont dam, it will only take you an hour of easy hiking to reach the refuge at the bottom of the valley.
A beautiful walk with the children to discover the fauna and flora of the Vanoise National Park.
