Path of the Chapel and the Essarts

Path in the forest with informative panels on fauna and flora. A very nice walk without difficulty where you can discover the religious heritage of Valfréjus, formerly the hamlet of Charmaix and where you can hear the water of the torrents flowing in summer.

Topo/step by step

• Start: from the meadow at the entrance to the Valfréjus resort, next to the parking lot.
  1/ Take the path down towards the Charmaix chapel.
  2/ Make a short stop to admire the sanctuary's Black Madonna.
  3/ Cross the stone bridge and continue along the path to the asphalt road.
  4/ Follow the road upstream to bend no. 1.
  5/ At the bend, take the path at the sign for "Les Essarts".
  6/ Continue to the end of the forest, admiring the exceptional flora.
  7/ Return to the resort via the route du Seuil.
