Avrieux, an authentic village at Haute Maurienne Vanoise, can be explored through its old streets, its baroque church of St. Thomas Becket and its Marie-Thérèse Redoubt, a key feature of the Esseillon fort barrier.

Description

Through the narrow streets, discover the evolution of the village between agro-pastoral tradition and industrial and tourist modernity, the exceptional baroque church and the originality of the Notre-Dame des Neiges chapel.
In the fort of the Marie-Thérèse Redoubt, the fifth citadel of the Esseillon barrier, and the Fortified Heritage Interpretation Center that it houses, come and discover the history of the 19th century military forts built by the Sardinian Kingdom to guard against a French invasion and to protect Turin, the capital of the time.
